Designer's Notes
Design a series of secluded outdoor living spaces to enjoy the restorative effects of living life in nature. Surrounded by a wide variety of plants, birds, hummingbirds, and butterflies the landscape becomes a living space.
Create various outdoor rooms, including a dining room that can double as an outdoor office, a courtyard center point under the umbrella canopy of a shade tree, and a large living room area with a fire pit.
Design and develop a strong coherent symmetrical axis for a balanced calmness inspired by nature’s symmetry.
Introduce the presence and sound of water both in the front and back yards for refreshing and relaxing effects. The water features also attract the wildlife to the site with the abundance of carefully chosen plant materials.
Use translucent plant materials with a variety of hardscape materials together to guide the user from one space to another seamlessly.
Add cement tiles for contemporary playfulness to the site.
